Skills4EOSC will participate in the European Civil Protection Forum, taking place in Brussels from June 4-5, 2024. Representatives from the project will contribute to the session 'Open Science, Research Data Management and Evidence-based Civil Protection Decision-Making' on Wednesday, June 5, from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM in Studio 1.
As part of its activities related to 'Open Science for evidence-based policy and public administration', Skills4EOSC has initiated a fruitful collaboration with civil protection agencies. The aim is to foster open discussions on Open Science (OS) and Research Data Management (RDM) among scientists and stakeholders involved in Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Civil Protection.
One of the plenary sessions directly stems from Skills4EOSC workshop online workshop held on April 9, 2024, a joint effort by Skills4EOSC, EPOS, INGV, and the Italian Civil Protection. The workshop provided a platform to further discuss with representatives from the European Commission's DG ECHO, EPOS, and EOSC about the application of Open Science principles and practicalities. The focus was on their implications for sharing data used at EU and Member State levels for decision-making, particularly in the field of Disaster Risk Management and civil protection.
